The Sturgeon Bay Clippers Soccer Team was able to enhance their chances of a top seed in the upcoming playoffs with a 4-1 victory over Gibraltar/Sevastopol on 96.7 WBDK on Monday night. The scoring started quickly with Ben Luders netting the game’s first goals in the 3rd minute assisted by Spencer Hubbard. The scoring continued when Carson Dvorak was able to knock in a second goal off a Gibraltar player in the 17th minute. Just after halftime, the game was brought to within one goal (2-1) off a corner kick where it would remain until 8:08 to go in regulation when Gavin Hernandez netted another Spencer Hubbard corner kick. Then 4 minutes later in the 90th minute of play, Robert Alas scored the game’s final goal giving the Clippers the 4-1 victory. The next game on the schedule is next Monday at home against Green Bay East. That game will be covered by the NEW Radio Sports Network on broadcast on 96.7 WBDK. The Clippers will find out their playoff standing this Wednesday.
