Clippers cruise past Vikings on 103.3 The Clipper and 105.1 The GOAT

The Sturgeon Bay Clippers have established their first multi-game winning streak in football in close to a decade after defeating the Gibraltar Vikings 50-34 in Institute Friday night.

The Vikings opened up the game with a touchdown for the second consecutive week thanks to a 30-yard pass from Luke Steebs to Sam Lindenberg. The Clippers would respond with two straight touchdowns from Braeden Haines and Jack Schmelzer to make it 16-6. Steebs would find Lindenberge for a second time in the first quarter to narrow the gap.

The Vikings and the Clippers would trade scores in the second quarter with Schmelzer scoring from 37 yards out and Steebs punching in another score from three yards out. The Clippers would take advantage of a turnover later in the second quarter with Anthony JennerJohn scoring from three yards out.

The defenses took control for much of the third quarter before Jennerjohn was able to sneak in again from three yards to give the Clippers a commanding lead. The two teams would trade scores in the final stanza. Steebs scored a receiving touchdown on a trick play that saw him pitch to ball to Spencer Krause before he pitched it to Lindenberg. One offensive play later, Richard Carlson scored from 50 yards out, a feat he nearly matched at the end of the game from over 40 yards out. Steebs found Cooper Cole in the end zone the complete the scoring for the night for the Vikings.
