Sturgeon Bay boys lose third straight

The Sturgeon Bay High School boys’ basketball team finally returned to full strength with eight players scoring points in Tuesday’s game against Appleton Xavier. That compares to just five which has been the norm the past two weeks as flu swept through the locker room. It wasn’t enough though as the Clippers dropped another game, falling 81-64. It was just a three-point margin at halftime but Xavier was able to step up their offensive production in the second stanza, scoring a healthy 46 points.

The Clippers had two players in double figures. Gunnar Tebon netted 23 and Jack Schmelzer had 11 points. Sturgeon Bay has a short turnaround before their next game. They’ll be on the court Thursday against Sevastopol.
