Sturgeon Bay 4-0 over visiting Kewaunee

For a second game in a row, the Sturgeon Bay Clippers played in the rain, but tonight's game lasted the full 90 minutes and it was a solid conference win.  On a rain soaked field, Captain Madison Starr scored in the first minute and finished the half with a hat trick.  Senior Captain Anna Fischer completed scoring for Sturgeon Bay with a quick goal in the second half.  Keeper McKenna Gibson had one save in goal for the Clippers.  "This was a nice win for our team.  Kewaunee has a young team this year and their coaches are working their magic.  SB mid fielders,Captain Claire Tellstrom and Gracen Spritka, worked tirelessly in terrible conditions to build our attack. In the mud and rain they directed Sturgeon Bay's offense.  Center backs Caitlyn Smith and Captain Georgia Feldman turned away any ball getting into their third of the field.  Consequently, we were able to give our younger players some good minutes tonight.  Defender Ella "The Destroyer" Pinkert vowed there would be no goals on her side of the field and she proved correct as the defense played a solid game. " Next, Sturgeon Bay travels to Elkhart Lake Glenbulah for a road game on Monday."
