Peshtigo nips Sturgeon Bay 1-0 In classic pitcher's duel

Peshtigo's only hit of the game in the bottom of the 6th inning led to the only run of the night in a 1-0 victory over Sturgeon Bay. With one out, an infield single by Brandon Eick moved Nick Nielson from first to third, where he scored on a sacrifice fly by Brody Heroux. Nielson retired the Clippers in order in the 7th inning to seal the win for the Bulldogs. Nielson earned the win on a 2-hitter, with Isaac Berkley and Trent Ehlers singling for Sturgeon Bay's two hits. Ehlers was the tough luck loser with his 1-hit gem, striking out 6 while walking 4. Nielson's outstanding outing included 4 strikeouts and 2 walks. Both teams now have one loss in the Packerland Conference. Sturgeon Bay will host Kewaunee in a Friday conference game before traveling to Coleman for a Saturday non-conference tilt with the highly rated Cougars.
