In a game featuring solid starting pitching by both teams, Sturgeon Bay shutout Gibraltar Thursday afternoon in a game played at Fish Creek. The Clippers got on the board in the bottom of the 1st inning on a 2-out single by Jake Schneider. Two 2-out singles by Ryan Jacobson in the 2nd and 4th innings completed the scoring for the day. Schneider recorded the win with a 2-hitter, striking out 4 and walking 2. A solid pitching performance was turned in by Gibraltar starter Eric Hoyerman, with relief help from Luke Steebs. Jacobson and Max Bordeau led the Clippers with 2 hits each, While Andras Szakala doubled for the Vikings. Sturgeon Bay moves to (7-1) on the season and (4-0) in the conference, and heads to Peshtigo on Monday for a showdown with the preseason favorite to win the conference.
