Clippers Soccer wins first game of season

Sturgeon Bay girls soccer beat Marinette 5-2 at Marinette for their first win of the season Tuesday. Anna Fischer scored a hat trick, Miranda Olson added a goal and Ella Pinkert completed scoring with a Penalty Kick late in the game. Sturgeon Bay had 12 shots on goal.  Marinette had four shots on goal with goals by Auburn Waloway, on a direct kick, and Katelyn Guenette. In goal, McKenna Gibson had two saves for Sturgeon Bay.  

Clippers Coach Bob Desotelle said, “Tonight we found our groove passing, making our attack more effective. Defensively, allowing only four shots on goal was impressive. Anna had a fantastic night at forward and defenders Georgia Feldman and Gracen Spritka played very well. Next we play NEW in Green Bay on Thursday. That will be our first conference game”.
