In their first Packerland Conference game of the year, Sturgeon Bay clubbed Kewaunee 17-0. What had been a competitive 4-0 game after 4 innings turned ugly when Sturgeon Bay plated 4 runs in the 5th inning, followed by a 9-run 6th inning, with the benefit of only 4 hits. Swinging the big bats for the Clippers were Mitchell Jackson 4-5 (all singles, 6 RBI), Isaac Berkley 3-5 (2 singles and a double, 2 RBI), and Trent Ehlers 2-4 (both singles, 2 RBI). Trent Ehlers was superb on the mound for Sturgeon Bay. Ehlers pitched 5 hitless innings, striking out 6 and issuing a single walk. Jake Schneider pitched the 6th inning for the Clippers, allowing Kewaunee's only hit of the game while striking out 2. Sturgeon Bay goes to 2-0 on the season and 1-0 in the Packerland conference.

The Clippers are scheduled to host Oconto on Friday, but field conditions at Memorial Field may result in the game being moved to Oconto. Information will be shared when available.
