Pioneers volleyball look to weather the Storm Thursday

The Sevastopol Pioneers look to extend their winning streak on the volleyball court on Thursday when Kewaunee comes to Institute for a 7 p.m. first serve.

Sevastopol volleyball player Leah Schopf reached a big milestone on Monday night as the Pioneers beat Bonduel in a three-match sweep 26-24, 25-17, 25-13. Head coach Rox Schopf was especially proud of her junior libero, who reached 1,000 digs in her high school career, a mark she says takes most players four years to reach. Brynn Schartner had 11 kills and 10 digs, while Aleah Volkmann had 14 kills and three aces to complement Schopf in the win.

The Storm could not keep pace with the Brillion Lions as they fell in a three-set sweep Monday night. The Storm lost the three sets 25-18, 25-14, 25-13, dropping them to 6-12 on the season.
