Pioneers football plays home opener against NEW Lutheran

The Sevastopol Pioneers play their first home game under the Thursday night lights when NEW Lutheran/Providence comes to Institute.

 

The Pioneers have split their first two games by lopsided margins. Sevastopol's trip to Oshkosh came up empty as they lost to Valley Christian 42-22 on Friday. Bo Tanck was 16-33 passing for 168 yards and two touchdowns while also accumulating 37 yards on the ground rushing on five carries. Cash Kuehn led the receiving corps with six receptions and 108 yards while Reid LeClair had five grabs for 53 yards and a touchdown, nearly matching Ray Johnson's four catches for 54 yards and a score. Kuehn also provided a highlight on defense with an interception.

 

The Blazers are 2-0 on the season after lopsided wins against Gibraltar (30-16) and Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah (42-15).
