Pioneers baseball stings Hornets

The Sevastopol baseball team scored their five in the first two innings and held on to win 5-2 at home on Thursday against Gillett/Suring.

 

Productive outs scored the first two runs for the Pioneers in the first inning while while a Bo Tanck fielder's choice and a two-run single off the bat of Andrew Wiesner put the final touches on their scoring. The Hornets did not get on the scoreboard until the sixth inning when a passed ball and a ground out tallied their two runs.

 

Tanck paced the Pioneers with three hits while Wiesner (3 RBI) and Logan Schuh (1 RBI) registered the RBI. Schuh earned the win on the mound for the Pioneers, tossing three innings of shutout ball, allowing two hits while striking out three.
