Sevastopol, Sturgeon Bay split baseball doubleheader Saturday

These two teams gave the fans their money's worth Saturday, splitting a wild baseball doubleheader with the Pioneers taking game two in dominant fashion.

Game one was a thriller. Sevastopol rallied to take a 10-9 lead with a massive seven-run sixth inning, highlighted by a three-RBI double from Logan Schuh. Bo Tanck went 3-for-5 to lead the offense and Andrew Wiesner added two hits. But Sturgeon Bay answered in the bottom of the seventh when an error scored the winning run, walking off the Pioneers 11-10.

Game two was a different story entirely. Chase Haberli tripled home three in the first and never looked back, tossing five hitless innings and striking out seven to earn the win. Schuh, Haberli, Tanck, and Reid LeClair each had two hits as Sevastopol rolled up 12 and cruised to a 13-0 win.

Sturgeon Bay hosts Lena on Monday at 4:30 p.m. Sevastopol travels to Gibraltar for a doubleheader Tuesday the 19th at 4 p.m.
