Sevastopol sweeps Peshtigo in baseball doubleheader

Sevastopol baseball took care of business Tuesday, sweeping Peshtigo in a doubleheader by scores of 10-2 and 6-2 behind dominant pitching and aggressive baserunning.

Andrew Wiesner carried game one, going 2-for-4 with three RBIs while also striking out nine over six innings on the mound. Sevastopol plated three in the first and added two more in the second to go up 5-0 early. The Pioneers finished with 12 hits and stole 15 bases, with Reid LeClair, Wiesner, Chase Haberli, and Logan Schuh each swiping multiple bags.

Game two was more of the same. Sevastopol jumped out 4-0 through two innings and cruised to a 6-2 win. Haberli tossed two scoreless innings with five strikeouts to start it, then went 3-for-4 at the plate. Wiesner and Bo Tanck each drove in two, and the Pioneers played errorless ball for the second straight game.
