Sevastopol falls 8-1 to Peshtigo

Sevastopol softball ran into a buzzsaw offense Tuesday, dropping an 8-1 decision to Peshtigo on the road.

 

Peshtigo jumped on the board early and never let up, racking up 17 hits on the day. Cameron Finger got things started with an RBI double in the first and Gracie Bickel extended the lead with a single in the second. Peyton Michalski led the way going 3-for-4, while Nevaeh Russell and Jadyn Jashinsky each drove in two.

 

Leah Schopf took the loss for Sevastopol, going the full seven innings and allowing eight runs on 17 hits. Finger earned the win on the other side, also going seven innings and holding the Pioneers to just one run on seven hits with seven strikeouts.

 

Schopf, Alexis Staats, and Brynn Schartner each had two hits to lead Sevastopol offensively.
