Pioneers lose road game to Trojans

Sevastopol's unbeaten streak to start the season came to a close on Saturday afternoon with a 54-45 loss to Green Bay Southwest.

Head coach Tom Ash said they did not do the little things right in the first half that allowed their hosts to stick around. One of those things came at the free throw line where they missed 13 shots, leading to the Trojans' 22-17 advantage at the break.

While both teams shot better in the second half, the Trojans could never shake the Pioneers and the Pioneers could not climb out of their hole, having to foul late to give themselves a chance.

Andrew Wiesner led the Pioneers with 13 points while Zaul Valdivia added 11 and Bo Tanck chipped in eight points. The Trojans were led by Zachary Diemer's 19 points and 18 from Noah Schroeder.

The Pioneers return home on Tuesday for their Stronger Together game matchup against Sturgeon Bay at 7 p.m. Jacob Nate will have the call on U-102.1 beginning at 6:45 p.m.
