Coaches in the Across the Bay Conference agreed: the best offensive player in the league lined up behind center for the Sevastopol Pioneers this season.
Logan Schuh led the list of 11 Pioneers players named to the All-Across the Bay Conference team, earning Offensive Player of the Year honors and a First-Team selection at quarterback. With 1,201 passing yards, 1,157 rushing yards, and 34 total touchdowns, Schuh was 6th in the state across all football divisions in total touchdowns, 1st in 8-man football in total yards, and 3rd in total touchdowns for 8-man according to the school district. Speaking after the Pioneers' playoff win last Saturday, Schuh gave his teammates credit for his success this year and for their role helping turn the program after their sophomore year.
Schuh joins Austin Pagels (OL), Chase Haberli (DB), Raynauldo Johnson (LB), and Harry Schartner (DL) as a First-Team selection. Schuh was also a second team selection on the defensive line, joining teammate Cash Kuehn (OE) on the squad. Honorable Mention All-Across the Bay selections on the Pioneers were Bo Tanck (RB), Kuehn (DB), Reid Kacmarynski (OE), and Liam Schultz (OL).
The Pioneers are back in action Friday night when they travel to face the Tigerton/Marion Thundercatz. Tim Kowols will have the call on 105.1 The GOAT beginning at 6:45 p.m. with the pregame show followed by the kickoff at 7 p.m.
