It was a dominant effort from start to finish for Sevastopol on Friday night as senior quarterback Logan Schuh accounted for five total touchdowns, powering the Pioneers to a 66-24 victory over Rosholt.
The Pioneers’ defense set the tone early, pitching a first-quarter shutout that included an interception by Cash Kuehn. Schuh opened the scoring with a rushing touchdown before connecting with Reid Kacmarynski on a 9-yard strike to make it 16-0 after one.
Sevastopol extended the lead early in the second quarter with a 15-yard touchdown run from Schuh, capping a 61-yard drive to make it 24-0. Rosholt responded with a long touchdown drive of its own, but the Pioneers continued to roll offensively, trading scores before halftime and taking a 48-18 lead into the break.
Kacmarynski found the end zone again to open the second half, his second touchdown catch of the night, before Roman LeClair broke loose for an 86-yard scoring run in the fourth quarter to seal the win.
Schuh finished the night with 322 total yards and five touchdowns, while Brett Haberli added 149 yards and a scoreon the ground. Kacmarynski recorded two receiving touchdowns, and LeClair contributed 103 rushing yards and one touchdown.
With the win, Sevastopol improves to 6-2 overall and awaits its playoff matchup, which will be announced on Saturday.
