Sevastopol started strong, but saw the game slip away in an 8-7 loss to Gillett on Monday.
Bo Tanck hit an RBI single to get the scoring going for the Pioneers before they drew two bases-loaded walks. Hatcher Reetz capped off the scoring with another single. The Tigers scored runs in each of the first five innings, including three in the second and two in the fourth. The Pioneers would rally in the sixth thanks to an RBi double by Andrew Wiesner and a run-scoring single by Aidan Isaksen, but they would leave one stranded in that inning and went 1-2-3 in the seventh to come up one run short.
The Pioneers outhit their hosts 13-5 thanks to three-games for Logan Schuh and Wiesner and two hit games from Isaksen and Reetz. The Tigers were helped in their quest by six Pioneers errors.
