The Sevastopol baseball team found themselves on both sides of lopsided decisions this weekend, losing to Kohler 14-0 and Wild Rose 15-3.
In Friday's game, Pioneers pitching gave up six runs in the first inning and five more in the third inning, prompting the game's early ending after the fifth inning. Collin Thorne hassled the Pioneers, going 4-4 with three doubles while driving in five runs. Three other Bombers posted multi-hit nights. The Pioneers mustered four hits on the night, including two from two from Andrew Wiesner. Paulie Gnabasik took the loss on the mound for the Pioneers, allowing eight runs (3 ER) on seven hits in just 1 1/3 innings.
Saturday was the opposite of Friday with the Pioneers scoring six times in the third and decisive sixth inning. Aidan Isaksen, Bo Tanck, Cash Kuehn, and Marek O'Dean all doubled in the game as the Pioneers piled up 17 hits. Tyler Grooters, Kuehn, Tanck, Isaksen, and O'Dean all had multi-hit games. Kuehn drove in three runs while Grooters and Isaksen each tallied. Nine different Pioneers tallied RBI in the win. Kuehn earned the win on the mound, striking out seven while allowing one run (0 ER) on no hits across four innings.
