Sevastopol's Kayla Ranly stands just 17 points away from 1,000 points after leading the Pioneers to a 63-43 win over Wabeno/Laona.
Ranly scored 18 of her team-high 25 points in the first half that saw the Pioneers jump to a 37-23 advantage at the break over the host Rebels. Naomi Rikkola added 17 points while Ella Volkmann and Addison Schauske each chipped in eight points. The Rebels' A. Albrecht scored 15 points and H. Gilligan contributed 16 points in the loss.
Ranly's next try at joining the 1,000 point club comes Tuesday when they play Southern Door.
