Pioneers softball pounds Blue Devils

The Sevastopol Pioneers softball team throttled Oconto in two straight games on Friday, beating them 9-0 and 15-3.

In game one, the Pioneers scored at least one run in each of the first four innings before an exclamation point on the game with four runs in the sixth inning. Three Pioneers had multi-hit games, led by Addison Schauske's 3-3 day. Brynn Schartner knocked in four runs on two hits, including a double, and Libby Ash collected two RBI and a hit. Schauske struck out six in three innings, but it was Ash who won, as she scattered five hits across four shutout innings while striking out two.

In the second game, the Pioneers scored at least two runs in five innings, including four in the sixth and seventh innings. In addition to their 15 hits, the Pioneers took advantage of five Blue Devils errors. Schartner followed up her four RBI games with a five-RBI game with a home run.
