Sevastopol girls win double OT thriller over Algoma

A single free throw in the second overtime gave the Sevastopol Pioneers a narrow 36-35 win over the Algoma Wolves in Algoma on Tuesday night.

Libby Ash hit a free throw and her third point for the night as the Pioneers squeaked by the Wolves in Packerland Conference action.

Sevastopol held an 18-14 lead at halftime, only to see Algoma outscore them 17-13 in the second half to force the first overtime.  After each team scored four points in the first overtime, Ash sealed the win for the Pioneers, hitting from the charity stripe.

Naomi Rikkola paced the Pioneers with 17 points, while Kayla Ranly added 12 more in the win.

Ryley Zimmerman and Sierra Slaby both tallied 11 points in the loss for Algoma.
