Pioneers boys fall to Wolves, look to sink Clippers on U-102.1

The Sevastopol Pioneers look to bounce back from a non-conference loss on Thursday when they face their local rivals Sturgeon Bay on Friday night in Institute.

The Pioneers lost to Hilbert Thursday night 61-46. Oliver Mathews led the Pioneers with 14 points, and Lucas Delsart chipped in 11. The defense ultimately had no answers for the Wolves' Kaelin Vanden Wyngaard, who scored 18 of his game-high 23 points in the first half as they took a 15-point lead into the break.

The Clippers improved to 2-1 for the season with a convincing 71-48 win over the Peshtigo Bulldogs in their last game on Tuesday night at home. They took a commanding 41-22 lead into halftime and never looked back.  Garrett Ulberg was hot from the field for the Clippers, nailing four three-pointers and finishing with 18 points.  Hayden Tracy added 12 points, and Jackson Starr chipped in 11 points for Sturgeon Bay.

Reece Robillard will have the call on U-102.1 and NEWRadioSportsNetwork.com beginning at 7:15 p.m. with the pregame show followed by the opening tip at 7:30 p.m.
