Pioneers girls cruise past Clippers

The Sevastopol girls' basketball team held a 31-9 advantage at halftime and didn't look back as they beat Sturgeon Bay 55-25.

The Pioneers got their fast start thanks to 12 first-half points from Naomi Rikkola and 11 from Katherine Spude and a suffocating defense that kept the Clippers off the scoreboard. Rikkola would continue her assault in the second half, scoring a game-high 25 points. Kayla Ranly picked up her game in the second half, scoring eight of her 13 points after the break.

The offense started to open up in the second half for the Clippers with Dasha Yeltysheva leading the way with seven points and Regan Kasten contributing six points.
