Pioneers cross country doesn't shy away from tough competition

The Sevastopol Pioneers cross country team welcomed tough competition and held their own in their home Pioneer Invite at Cherry Hills Golf Course in Sturgeon Bay on Thursday.

 

The seventh state-ranked Pioneers finished fifth out of six teams with 106 points with Green Bay Preble (28), Freedom (44), Two Rivers (92), and Luxemburg-Casco (99) finishing ahead of them. Preble is ranked 20th in Division 1 and Freedom is ranked seventh in Division 2. Naomi Rikkola led the girls with a time of 21:58 to earn an 18th-place finish overall. 

 

Jarius Dadam broke 20 minutes as the lone male finisher for the Pioneers.
