Sevastopol football hits road to Suring

The Sevastopol Pioneers will head around the bay on Friday in search of their first win on the gridiron when they take on Suring.

In their last game, the Pioneers got to within a score but could get no closer on their homecoming night as they lost to Wausaukee 38-30 Friday night. Logan Schuh tied the game up at eight after he scored from two yards out, but the Rangers would rattle off two straight touchdowns to make it 24-8 at halftime. The two teams would trade scores throughout the third quarter with Ray Johnson and Schuh earning touchdowns on the ground. Michael Wautlet tried giving his team life at the end of the third quarter when he took a kickoff 73 yards to the endzone to get the Pioneers to within eight points, but both teams' defenses were staunch in the fourth quarter, allowing no points.

The Eagles are also looking for their first win of the season after they lost to Oneida Nation/NEW Lutheran/Providence Academy last week 35-14.

Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. in Suring.
