Five local Packerland Conference schools will take the course on together for a cross-country meet in Sheboygan on Tuesday.

 

Algoma, Sevastopol, Southern Door, Gibraltar, and Kewaunee joins Heritage Christian, Living Word Lutheran, St. John's Northwestern Academies, Valley Christian, Campbellsport, Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah, Kohler, Laconia, Manitowoc Lutheran, Oostburg, Ozaukee, Random Lake, Roncalli, St. Lawrence Seminary, Sheboygan Christian, Winnebago Lutheran Academy, Washington County Home School Athletics, Kettle Moraine Lutheran, Milwaukee Lutheran, St. Mary's Springs Academy, Reedsville, and Providence Academy (Green Bay) at Sheboygan Lutheran for their invitational that kicks off at 4:30 p.m.

 

Last races for each school:

• Algoma's Estella Marrero (29:52.50) and Emily Reif (31:39.00) set personal records at their own home invitational last week.

• The Sevastopol girls cross country team proved why they are the sixth-best team in the state in their division with a third-place finish in the small school division at Friday's Nightfall Classic in Neenah. Bea Dramm led the way with a third-place finish in a time of 20:33 as the Pioneers as a team scored 96 points. Naomi Rikkola also broke 21 minutes to finish in the top 10 with a sixth-place finish.

• The Southern Door Eagles cross country had another strong showing from familiar faces at their second meet in three days, this time at the Chilton Tigers Invitational. For the girls, Emma Bousley ran a season-best 21:20, and three of her teammates set personal records as the Eagles took fourth place overall with 97 points as Sheboygan Lutheran won the meet. On the boys' side, the Eagles matched their female counterparts with 97 points to take third place behind invite co-winners Chilton and Sheboygan Lutheran with 37 points. Ben Grota led the way with a fourth-place finish with a 5K time of 18:12. 

• The Gibraltar Vikings cross-country teams put up strong performances under the lights of the 920 Nightfall Classic in Neenah Friday night. Logan Mittermann led the way for the boys with a time of 20:06, which was good for 36th overall. For the girls, Helen McCormack covered the 5K course in 23:55 to lead the Vikings to an 11th-place finish.

• Only one girls runner completed the Roncalli Invitational 5K course in less than 20 minutes, and that was enough to lead Hannah Miller to victory. Miller completed the course in 19:47 to take first place, finishing ahead of second place Hannah Welch by 26 seconds. The Storm as a team finished in 6th with 145 points. Christopher Cullen had has own strong day for the boys' squad, covering the course in 17:31 for a third-place finish.
