The return to the gridiron proved to be fruitful for Valley Christian as they left Institute with a 28-14 victory over Sevastopol Thursday night.
The Pioneers found themselves down 22-0 heading into the second half before breaking through with a score in the third quarter thanks to an eight-yard touchdown pass from Logan Schuh to Oliver Matthew. Landon Frank scored the other Pioneers touchdown in the fourth quarter on a long 56-yard rush. Frank and Schuh combined to rush for 167 yards on 23 carries.
The Pioneers return to action next Thursday when they host Gillett.
