All 15 runs were scored in the first three innings, but it was Sevastopol that came up empty at the end of their 11-4 loss to Almond-Bancroft in the WIAA Regional Championship Thursday afternoon.

Addison Schauske took the brunt of the damage after pitching so well in the semifinal, going just one inning while giving up seven earned runs and six walks. Messina Meddaugh and Aaliyah Newby were among those that took advantage of uncharacteristic pitching performance as the pair combine to knock in seven runs on five hits.

Schauske's positional counterpart Riya Ceballos kept things under control for Almond-Bancroft, allowing four runs while striking out six across seven innings of work. Bailey Rikkola went 2-3 with a stolen base while sister Naomi knocked in two runs on an RBI double. Schauske got some payback as her dinger helper narrow the deficit.
