Pioneers baseball falls to Crusaders; host Wolves Friday

The Sevastopol Pioneers will have one last chance to grab a win in Packerland Conference play when they host the Algoma Wolves for a doubleheader Friday.

Sevastopol is fresh off of a close loss to the Crusaders of Sheboygan Lutheran on Thursday night by a score of 3-1, dropping their record to 2-17 overall and 0-14 in Packerland play. The Pioneers will look to avoid going a full season without a conference win, as they took home two conference wins last season.

Algoma is coming off a win against Hilbert/Stockbridge 10-0, as they have turned their season around in the second half of the year. The Wolves are 5-2 in their last seven games to run their overall record to 9-8 and their Packerland record to 6-8 in fifth of the conference. The Wolves grabbed a fourth seed in the WIAA playoffs, and will take on St. Thomas Aquinas.

First pitch from Sevastopol is set for 4:30 p.m.
