Sevastopol softball splits with Algoma

It was a tale of two games for the Sevastopol softball team as they lost 5-2 in game one but captured game two 15-8 against the Algoma Wolves.

In game one, Libby Ash was the hard-luck pitcher with no walks or earned runs while scattering six hits with five strikeouts. The team was uncharacteristic with the Pioneers committing five defensive errors and collecting three hits. Johanna Andreae and Alaina Schopf each had a hit and an RBI in the loss. Ryley Zimmerman had two hits and Sierra Slaby went 1-2 with two RBI on her double in the victory for the Wolves.

Things were a little closer to normal in the second game, though Addison Schauske had to weather 11 walks and five hits to go along with five strikeouts. Johanna Andreae came through offensively, going 4-5  with three runs scored and five RBI. Jolene Luedtke and Addison Schauske each scored five runs while Alaina Schopf punched in two RBI. Macie Zimmerman led the Wolves with two RBI while Amelia Robinson, Brooke Mattson, and Hannah Nell each garnered one. Nell took the loss for the Wolves, surrendering all 15 runs (eight earned) on 15 hits.
