Sturgeon Bay/Sevastopol wrestler Ben Roman made sure he did not drive home from the WIAA State Wrestling Meet empty handed on Saturday.
After being pinned by Freedom's Hunter Vander Heiden in the consolation semifinal match, Roman beat Logan See (Chilton/Hilbert) 3-1 in sudden victory overtime to capture fifth place overall. According to the SBS Wrestling Facebook page, See had been a thorn in Roman's side the last two weeks before Roman got the last laugh on the state's biggest stage. Roman ends his career a two-time state medalist.
