Pioneers girls look to finish conference play strong starting with NEW Lutheran

The quest for a perfect Packerland mark continues this week as they battle NEW Lutheran on Monday.

Defense and a strong night offensively from a Rikkola led the way again as the Sevastopol girls' basketball team beat Kewaunee Friday night 56-32. The Pioneers more than doubled up the Storm by the break, leading 37-16 after the first 18 minutes of play. Bailey Rikkola scored 12 of her game-high 20 points in the first half, while Libby Ash scored 10 of her 11 points in the same frame. Naomi Rikkola added 13 points in the game for the Pioneers, six coming in the second half.

The Blazers, led by likely All-Conference performer Ebony Sinclair, have lost two straight games, including a close 48-45 overtime loss to Peshtigo on Friday.

Tip-off is set for 6:30 p.m.
