Pioneer girls look for win #20 against Kewaunee

The program's first 20-win season is on the line Friday night when Sevastopol plays Kewaunee in Institute as a part of the Packerland girls' basketball slate.

They set the program record on Tuesday with a 54-20 victory over Gibraltar, the Pioneers' 19th of the season. The Pioneers were able to pull away for good midway through the first half, thanks to a balanced scoring attack by Kayla Ranly, Bailey Rikkola, Naomi Rikkola, and Reese Schauske. Both offenses settled in a little more in the second half, with their respective stars shining the brightest. Naomi Rikkola scored 16 of her game-high 21 points in the second half for the Pioneers.

The Storm is playing their best basketball of the season after an extremely slow start, routing Peshtigo on Tuesday 68-39. Jadelynn Kroll led the way with 25 points, while Lexi Hanrahan and Breanna Riha each chipped in eight points.

Tip off time is set for 7:30 p.m.
