DCU swim team holds own in conference meet

We’ll see both Two Rivers and Kiel again at the conference championship, which is going to be a dogfight. We keep ourselves mentally in the game, we should have a solid chance at marking our mark, even with a squad of nine.

Notable swims and finishes:

  • 2nd (Race Kasten, Jack Monfils, Colton Blackley, Logan Filar) and 4th place (Tre Wienke, Branden Neubauer, Ezra Linnan, Eric Jimenez-Polster) finishes in the 200 medley relay with times of 1:50.22 and 2:05.67 respectively
  • 1st (Kasten, Blackley, Linnan, Monfils) and 4th (George Atwell, Wienke, Jimenez-Polster, Neubauer) place finishes in the 200 free relay with a time of 1:39.96 and 1:51.95, respectively
  • 3rd place finish in the 400 free relay (Kasten, Blackley, Atwell, Filar) with a time of 3:47.49
  • Atwell took 4th in the 200 free with a time of 2:12.59 (a season best) and Neubauer took 5th with a time of 2:13.95
  • Monfils placed 1st in the 200 IM with a time of 2:14.21 and Linnan took 4th with a time of 2:26.53 (a season-best by five seconds)
  • Blackley took 3rd in the 50 free with a time of 25.81 and Jimenez-Polster took 5th with a time of 29.99 (a season-best and finally breaking 30 seconds)
  • Filar took 1st in the 100 fly with a time of 1:03.37 and Linnan took 4th with a time of 1:08.88
  • Atwell took 4th in the 100 free with a time of 1:02.18, and Wienke took 5th with a time of 1:02.35
  • Filar took 3rd in the 500 with a time of 6:01.56 and Neubauer took 4th with a time of 6:14.65
  • Kasten took 1st in the 100 back with a time of 1:01.65, and Jimenez-Polster too 5th with a time of 1:22.53
  • Monfils placed 2nd in the 100 breast with a time of 1:06.46 and Wienke took 4th with a 1:19.02


It’s just one meet on one night, and I’m confident we’ll show up Saturday feeling better and ready to put down some fast times.
