It was a great meet today, and the boys had a series of really great swims. Hard work definitely pays off, and our times in the pool are proof of that. I could not have asked for more from our squad of nine. We placed 8th out of a field of 16, many of which are some of the strongest swim teams in the state. Some of these teams we won’t see again until state, and it was nice to get a look at what we’re coming up against in D-1. We will meet back with Plymouth and Berlin in a few weeks at the conference championship, and it’s anyone's for the taking right now. We finished just behind Plymouth today. To say I’m proud would be an understatement.

Notable swims and finishes:
-7th place (Race Kasten, Jack Monfils, Ezra Linnan, Logan Filar) and 15th places (Tre Wienke, Branden Neubauer, Colton Blackley, George Atwell) in the 200 medley relay with times of 1:48.32 and 2:01.52 respectively
-10th place finish (Blackley, Linnan, Wienke, Kasten) in the 200 free relay with a time of 1:40.52
-13th place finish in the 400 free relay (Monfils, Atwell, Neubauer, Filar) with a time of 3:46.76 (a season-best in the 400 free relay)
Point scorers:
-Monfils placed 5th in the 200 IM with a time of 2:10.15 (a season-best)
-Filar took 7th in the 50 free with a time of 23.83
-Filar took 13th in the 100 fly with a time of 1:02.65 (a season-best)
-Kasten tied for 9th in the 100 free with a time of 53.58 (a season-best) and Blackley took 14th with a time of 54.41 (a season-best)
-Kasten took 6th in the 100 back with a time of 59.08 (a season-best)
-Monfils placed 8th in the 100 breast with a time of 1:07.08
Our next meet is Thursday, January 14. It’s a dual meet against Kiel at Kiel. I am confident that it will be a great meet!
