Sevastopol High School

Pioneers boys open season hosting Bears

The Sevastopol Pioneers will open up their season against the Bonduel Bears on Tuesday night at home.

Sevastopol had their fair share of struggles at times last season, as they were not able to get into the win column during Packerland conference play. The Pioneers would lose in the first round of the WIAA playoffs to eventual State Champion Randolph. A senior heavy team will look to their underclassmen from last season to step in for the upcoming season. Sevastopol will look to improve on their 3-22 overall season from last year, starting against Bonduel.

The Bears of Bonduel were a strong team last season, as they finished at 15-10 overall with a 7-5 record in the Central Wisconsin Conference. Noah Weier was a name that was mentioned a lot during the football season, but showed out as well on the basketball court last season averaging 13.3 points per game. He will lead the Bears this season, as they lost their leading scorer Reece Stoltenow to graduation as he committed to Concordia.

Tip is scheduled for 7:30 P.M.
