Sevastopol High School

Depth key for Sevastopol Boys Basketball success

A senior heavy team last year, the Sevastopol Pioneers will need to find some results from some depth players for a good performance this season.

In a 3-22 overall season last year, the Pioneers went 0-16 in Packerland conference play. They were eliminated in the first round by the Randolph Rockets, the Division 5 State Champions by a score of 78-44. Sevastopol was led by Senior Jack de Young last season, but with six graduating seniors, the Pioneers will be looking to replace and revamp their roster.

Nick Peterson and Cesar Sandoval are their two top returning scorers from last season's team, but Sevastopol could see multiple people potentially step up and have a big season if they are wanting to move their way up the Packerland conference standings this season.

The Pioneers were not great from beyond the arc last season, and could be something that if improved upon, could win them games this upcoming season.

Their first game will come at home against the Bonduel Bears on November 22nd, and their first Packerland game is on the road on December 1st against the Peshtigo Bulldogs.
