The Sevastopol Pioneers will open up their 2022-2023 season campaign Tuesday night as they take a visit to Suring to take on the Eagles. 

Sevastopol had a relatively strong year last season, with their overall record finishing at 18-8, with a 10-6 record in the Packerland. Led by the Rikkolas, Bailey and Naomi, the Pioneers are hoping to open up their season in a strong fashion, coming away with a win on the road. Not losing many seniors was a common theme for teams around the area, but Sevastopol was one of the teams that was affected the least, and should give them a boost going into their opening matchup against the Eagles. 

The Eagles of Suring were a team that flirted around the .500 mark during most of the season last year, with their final overall record being 10-16. Suring will get back their leading scorer from last season, as senior wing Christine Sleeter will be back after leading the team with 17.3 points per game and 11.5 rebounds per game.
