For the first time since the spring of 2021, the Sevastopol Pioneers football team will host a home game when Lena/St. Thomas Aquinas visits Institute Friday night.

 

During that pandemic-induced spring season, they beat Gibraltar 56-40 before setting up shop in Fish Creek for the 2021 fall season while improvements were made at Sevastopol's sports complex. This season, the Pioneers bounced back in a big way as they beat Gillett 42-22 behind huge performances from Frankie deYoung (220 yards passing, two TDs) and Cesar Sandoval (13 rushes, 152 yards, three total TDs).

 

The Titans are 2-0 on the year after beating Suring and Oneida Nation/NEW Lutheran by a combined score of 77-0. Sam Marquardt has been a one-man show in the games so far, rushing for 234 yards and throwing nearly another 100 yards while registering five total touchdowns.
