Sevastopol High School

Sevastopol coach talks season future

The Sevastopol Pioneers are 4 years removed from their inaugural 8-Player championship, but head coach Ron Frank believes that his team has talent this year to improve on their record from last year's season.

After a 2-8 season last year, the pioneers might get some help from not just personnel, but home field advantage. The Pioneers will be playing on their own home field for the first time since the spring season of 2021. Instead of having to travel for their home games, they will be able to be like every other school and keep it in their own backyard.

The team will be gaining some experience as well. The team was relatively young last season, and will be able to grow throughout the system and really learn the feel of playing underneath those lights.

The Pioneers, playing in the Peninsula conference, will open up their season against their rival, the Gibraltar Vikings. Less than 30 minutes away from each other, the two schools will kick off their season trying to get one game up on each other.

Last year's game was a back and forth affair, as head coach Ron Frank sat down with Tim Kowols to talk about the season ahead and expectations of the team.

Sevastopol will be traveling to Gibraltar tomorrow night, and the game will be covered on 105.1 The GOAT, and NewRadioSportsNetwork.com
