Sevastopol, Chilton exchange blowouts

Both Sevastopol and Chilton took turns abusing pitchers and rounding the bases on Saturday with the Pioneers winning the first game 19-1 and the Tigers winning the second game 17-5.

In game one, it was a 12-run sixth inning that ultimately clinched the game for the Pioneers. Bailey Rikkola, Kayla Ranly, Claire Haberli, and Naomi Rikkola all had three hits while Jolene Luedtke at four hits. Luedtke, Naomi Rikkola, and Samantha Differt each had three RBI while Haberli, Krista Daubner, Ranly, and Bailey Rikkola had a pair driven in. Addison Schauske went the distance, giving up a single run on five hits while striking out seven.

In game two, the Tigers led 5-1 after two innings and had an eight-run fourth inning to ultimately put the game out of reach for the Pioneers despite nearly matching them hit for hit (16-15). Three errors led to only two of the 13 runs given up by Libby Ash to be earned one day after her complete game against Southern Door. Schauske came back to pitch in game two, giving up four runs by striking out another seven. Alaina Schopf drove in three of the five runs while Bailey Rikkola and Ranly brought home the other two. Ranly, Daubner, Haberli, and Schopf all had multiple hits in the game.
