Pioneers girls hit road to face Lourdes Academy

The Sevastopol Pioneers girls' basketball team looks to keep their season alive Friday night when they head to Oshkosh to face Lourdes Academy.

 

They got off to a strong start in the WIAA Division 5 Tournament Wednesday night, beating Central Wisconsin Christian 60-18. The Pioneers doubled up their visitors 32-15 in the first right, but only allowed another three points after the break. Naomi Rikkola scored 10 points in the first half en route to 23 point night for the Pioneers. Bailey Rikkola added 10 points while Kayla Ranly and Libby Ash each chipped in six points in the win. 

 

Lourdes Academy defeated Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah on Wednesday 63-50 in their opening-round matchup. The Knights were led by Hailee Bauer who scored 18 points, Addy Hafemeister who chipped in 16 points, and Molly Moore who added 15 points. The team is riding a two-game winning streaking after dropping their previous three.
