Pioneers alum McHugh in Olympic Trials finals

Max McHugh is one step closer to Tokyo after Sunday's U.S. Swimming Olympic Trials in Omaha. 

 

According to the Minneapolis Star-Tribune, McHugh swam a pair of personal bests Sunday to advance to the final in the men's 100-yard breaststroke. He registered the fifth-fastest time with a 59.68 in the semifinal heat. The top-seed is Michael Andrew after swimming a time of 58.14.

 

He swims again Monday, June 14th in the 100 Breaststroke at 6 p.m. with a chance to go to Tokyo on the line on NBC. He could also qualify via the 200 Breaststroke when those events begin on Wednesday.
