Sevastopol High School's volleyball team found itself down two sets to nothing on the road against seven seed Manitowoc Lutheran Tuesday night. The Pioneers lost the first set, 20-25, and then got thumped, 8-25, in set two. The team regrouped and ran off three consecutive hard-fought sets, 25-22, 25-23, 16-14, to pull the upset.
Mya Ploor was a catalyst in both facets of the game collecting 17 kills and 12 digs. Johanna Andreae had 8 kills as well. Sasha Laaksonen delivered 32 assists. Sevastopol returns to the court on Thursday night at #2 Oostburg. The Lady Dutch hail from the Big East Conference. They won in straight sets over Winnebago Lutheran, 25-13, 25-12, 25-16.
