Sevastopol has had a very strong football program ever since they moved to 8-man football. Loses have been few and far between and that success culminated in a state championship last fall. The Pioneers defeated Luck 38-30 in a game that didn't look like would be a win after the first quarter. Sevastopol trailed 16-0 after 15 minutes. They also trailed by 8 at the half and 8 going into the fourth quarter. The Pioneers were able to rally in the fourth and win the game 38-30 when Nathan Stenzel ran in a touchdown.
