Sevastopol baseball's thrilling opening games

Last year Sevastopol baseball won a thrilling game on opening day. This year opening day was another thriller but the Pioneers didn't like the result as much. The start of the 2018 baseball season saw Sevastopol play in a slugfest on their home field against Algoma. The final ended up being 13-12 in favor of the home team.

On Tuesday Sevastopol held a 4-0 lead and then a 6-1 to Southern Door. The Eagles, however, were able to come back in the final two innings scoring four in the 6th inning and two in the 7th to win it in walk-off fashion. Derik LeCaptain singled home the winning run.

Sevastopol hopes to have the same success in game two that they had last year. The Pioneers played Algoma again the very next day and clobbered the Wolves 22-5 in Algoma. Sevastopol heads to Gibraltar on Thursday for game two this season.

Wednesday's trivia question asked what the final score of last year's opening day game was. Congratulations to David Kacmarynski who correctly answered that the final score was 13-12!
