The Sevastopol baseball team hopes to improve its record for the second straight season. Last year the Pioneers had more victories in a rain-shortened 12 game season than they did in 2017 when they played 23 games. A 5-7 overall record last year was a big improvement over the 3-20 season Sevastopol had the year before.

The greatest heights of the program came in 2011 when they shared a Packerland Conference championship with Sturgeon Bay. Riley Spetz helped lead the team on the mound and at the plate that season. He was the answer to Wednesday's trivia question which asked, "Which Sevastopol baseball player contributed 5 wins on the mound and a .469 batting average at the plate the last time the Pioneers won a conference championship in 2011?"

Sevastopol's season is scheduled to begin on Tuesday when they host Southern Door at 5 PM.
