McHugh captures top frosh honors

Former Sevastopol swimmer Max McHugh’s first Big Ten Conference Championships appearance helped him earn freshman of the year honors. McHugh bested a mark set by his brother when he swam a school history making 51.39 in the 100 breast stroke in the preliminary round. During the championships held in Iowa City over the weekend, McHugh was part of a 5th place finishing 200 yard medley relay team and 3rd place finishing 400 yard medley relay team. He also finished quite well in his individual events, taking 2nd place in the 100 yard and 200 yard breaststroke events.
