The Luxemburg-Casco Spartans volleyball team will travel to Oconto Falls on Saturday, Oct. 24, for a 4 p.m. matchup against the Panthers.
The Spartans are riding a six-match winning streak following Thursday's 3-0 sweep of the Seymour Thunder, winning all three sets 25-17.
Claire Schleis led the Spartans with 19 assists, 10 kills, seven digs and three aces. Stella Schleis added 13 assists and 12 digs, while Aubrey Frey recorded 20 kills, 10 digs and two aces. Ali Jansen contributed nine kills, and Jenna Annoye finished with 13 digs.
Luxemburg-Casco enters the matchup with a 23-15 record and will face a 35-5 Oconto Falls team that handed the Spartans their most recent loss. The Panthers defeated Luxemburg-Casco 3-1 two weeks ago, denying the Spartans a North Eastern Conference championship.
Head coach Jeff Frey was pleased with his team's effort Thursday but knows another tough challenge awaits.
"Tonight was a good way to start the postseason; survival and advance is all that matters this time of year," Frey said. "We are excited for the rematch and the opportunity in front of us on Saturday against Oconto Falls."
The match is scheduled for 4 p.m. Saturday at Oconto Falls High School.
